I am dedicated to supporting individuals in navigating the complexities of chronic illness, anxiety, depression, and the unique challenges faced by caregivers of children with chronic diseases. As someone who understands the massive impact that these conditions can have on mental health and overall well-being, I provide a compassionate and empathetic approach to therapy.
Areas of focus: My areas of focus include working with individuals who have food allergies and other chronic diseases, caregiver stress and anxiety, anxiety, depression, trauma, stress management, life transitions, perfectionism, low self-esteem, fear of abandonment, and identity issues.

Living with food allergies, autoimmune conditions, or a highly sensitive nervous system can make the world feel like an unpredictable and overwhelming place. It often breeds anxiety, demands perfectionism, and teaches you to people-please to stay safe. My work is dedicated to supporting teens and adults navigating these challenges. I provide a relational and psychodynamic space where we can explore the roots of these patterns, including the very real trauma of managing chronic health issues.
My approach is eclectic and intuitive, blending science with a touch of the “witchy,” honoring intuition, inner wisdom, and the mind-body connection. I use practical tools from CBT to calm the anxious mind, while Brainspotting and parts work (IFS) can help us access and heal the deeper parts of your story that hold trauma, fear, and overwhelm. We will work to soothe your nervous system, reclaim a sense of safety in your body, and transform the critical inner voice into a compassionate ally.
My work is focused on:
I believe healing isn’t just about talking; it’s about experiencing and creating. I incorporate creativity, mindfulness, and movement into our work because healing happens when we engage the whole self. I am a culturally responsive, LGBTQ+ affirming, and disability-affirming therapist, and I honor all facets of your identity. Together, we’ll create a sanctuary where you can shed the masks, explore your inner world, and tap into the profound resilience that already exists within you.
Additionally, I facilitate a monthly free support group for tweens (10-14) with Eosinophilic Esophagitis and a monthly drop-in support group for parents of children with food allergies. If you are interested in either of these groups, please email me at jennatsoasw@gmail.com.
As a therapist, I utilize an eclectic approach and tailor treatment to fit the needs of each individual I work with. I commonly use interventions from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy (SFT), acceptance-based commitment therapy (ACT), internal family systems (IFS), mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), and attachment based therapy to address each client’s needs.
Overall, my goal is to provide a safe and nurturing space where each client can explore their emotions, learn coping strategies, and tap into their inner resilience.
I have training in dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) to assist individuals struggling with emotion regulation and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which is a gold-standard approach to treating anxiety and depression. I enjoy tailoring treatment to each client and incorporating their interests into sessions, whether that’s music, drawing, dance, or other forms of expression. Sitting and talking for every session may not work for some clients. I recognize that and am open to determining what works best for each person. Through creativity, mindfulness, and psychoeducation, I embark with each client on a journey to assist them with challenging limiting beliefs and seeing their true superpowers.
Regarding chronic disease, I have specific experience working with individuals with severe food allergies, asthma, diabetes, Crohn’s disease, MALS, and chronic pain. As a therapist with personal experience living with food allergies and chronic disease, I love working with individuals and families who are navigating these complex challenges.
I also enjoy working with teens and adults who are struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, low self-esteem, significant life transitions, depression, fear of abandonment, and past traumas.
I work through an intersectional lens, considering each client’s overlapping facets of identity better to understand their role in their experience and struggles. I identify as a culturally responsive, LGBTQ+ affirming, and disability-affirming therapist who is passionate about advocating for their clients and providing a warm, accepting space for them to show up as their authentic selves. In therapy, I acknowledge and explore the different aspects of my client’s identities that impact the way they navigate the world and may exacerbate their current mental health symptoms, including disability, race, gender, and more.
I completed my practicums at Edelman Westside Mental Health Center in Los Angeles and 1736 Family Crisis Center in Torrance. Through these placements, I gained clinical skills and experience working with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds who had experienced trauma. Additionally, I worked with individuals who were navigating difficult life and role transitions, including stepping into caregiver roles.
